Sociology Professor’s Passion for Fiction

Suzanne Palmieri has been teaching sociology to Quinnipiac students for the past ten years, first as an adjunct and now as a visiting instructor in the Department of Sociology. In addition to sharing her love of the study of society with students, Suzanne is also a novelist. Recently Publishers Marketplace announced book deals for several works authored or co-authored by Suzanne.

As announced by Publishers Marketplace:

“Suzanne Palmieri’s The Witch of Little Italy, in which a troubled senior at Yale returns to her estranged, magical family in the Bronx and unlocks secrets dating back to WWII, as well as her mysterious, lost memories…[is] a two-book deal, for publication in April 2013.”

And writing under the name of Suzanne Hayes, Suzanne has co-authored a second two-book series:

“Suzanne Hayes and Loretta Nyhan’s I’ll be Seeing You  [is] a story of unexpected friendship told through letters shared between two American women on the home front during World War II.”

Suzanne comments that “I’ve always written as a hobby, but when I began writing novels my interest in publication grew. It’s been an exciting experience and a good test of patience, perseverance, and networking. I never would have believed, when I started this process, that I would be able to say I sold four books to two major publishing houses in the matter of a few weeks… but in this world, when you try hard and you love what you do, there isn’t anything that is unattainable.”
